About Us

I began taking piano lessons at the age of 8 in the early 1960's.  When I began the 7th grade, I took up the trumpet.  In the 10th grade I switched to the French Horn where I have been now for more than 45 years.  In 2010, I returned to The University of Memphis to complete my degree in Music Education. My desire was to develop the skills necessary to teach people about the joy of music and how to play their chosen instrument.  I graduated in May of 2013 with a Bachelor Degree in Music Education.  During my time at the university, I met many talented musicians who also have the desire to teach.  I opened Cordova Music Academy in July of 2013 and have assembled a group of excellent musical instructors who have degrees in their chosen instrument or will be be graduating this next year.  As a result, we are prepared to provide beginner, intermediate, as well as advanced lessons for vocal and almost all instruments.  If you have a child just beginning, he/she will have the opportunity to study from the same material used in their classrooms.  You may be an adult who desires to learn to sing or play an instrument.  Whether it is string, brass, woodwind or percussion instruments or voice, Cordova Music Academy has the instructor for you. Come in and see us and let us help you make your musical dreams come true.
